Samsung chairman meets Meta, Amazon, and Qualcomm heads

 SEOUL: 

 Samsung explained on Thursday that its chairman Lee met with Meta’s Zuckerberg, Qualcomm’s Krishna, and Amazon’s Bezos this week to discuss cooperation; the meeting and topics covered were AI, cloud, and chips. 

 

 On Tuesday, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg met with Jay Y. Lee at his home and their topics of conversation included Artificial Intelligence and virtual and augmented reality, Samsung said in a statement. Lee is on a two-week visit in the United States. 

 Samsung has faded somewhat in the contest against rivals in chips, particularly in high-end memory for artificial intelligence ambitions; moreover, its new chief of the semiconductor division has urged co-workers to unite to address numerous issues. 

 Amazon is one of the major customers of Samsung for chips and both the firms are also partners in almost all the domains like TVs, Mobiles and content etc. 

 Samsung has top-tier quarterly phones that use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile processors and the two firms have lately deepened their tie-up to artificial intelligence supported PCs. 

 For the record, Meta is also a customer of Samsung chips and it has collaborated with Samsung on the latter’s South Korean Gear VR headset as well as foldable phones.
